A Tribute to Little John

Little John was a wolf that we took part in the adoption of at Wolf

Haven International and is the one that inspired me for the name I

use within the Society for Creative Anachronism

The quote found below was regarding the picture

"Lately, Little John has been expressing more interest in me, after being somewhat nonchalant most of the time.

He comes up to the fence on my good morning rounds, sniffing intently. He doesn't try to initiate play yet,

and doesn't wag a whole lot, but I'm determined to win him over.

He's such a classic-looking wolf that he often adorns our posters and pamphlets.

His eyes are very expressive, and he spends a great deal of time looking directly into my eyes.

Part of this is his display of his alpha status - a direct gaze is a sign of a confident, dominant wolf.

Looking into his eyes, though, I don't see hostility, or even a challenge; most of the time, he seems to be searching for something."
